PV Array Requirements
For the charger to start operating, PV voltage must exceed battery voltage by at least 5V. After startup, PV voltage must remain at least 1V above battery voltage. The PV array must remain within the controller's specified voltage and current limits.
Installation Notes
Install the controller vertically on a non-flammable surface with the electrical terminals facing downward. Victron specifies at least 10 cm (approximately 4 inches) of clearance above and below the controller for cooling. Install it within 3 m (approximately 10 ft) of the battery, but never directly above the battery.
The PV input is not isolated from the battery circuit. Battery and PV connections must be protected against inadvertent contact. Verify PV array voltage, short-circuit current, battery configuration, conductor sizing, overcurrent protection and charging settings before installation.
