Garmin BlueNet 30 Gateway
The Garmin BlueNet 30 Gateway connects compatible legacy Garmin Marine Network devices to a Garmin BlueNet chartplotter or BlueNet network. It is designed for vessels that need to integrate supported equipment from the two Garmin network generations into one properly configured marine network.
What the BlueNet 30 Gateway Does
- Bridges compatible legacy Garmin Marine Network devices with a Garmin BlueNet network
- Provides two legacy Garmin Marine Network ports
- Provides one Garmin BlueNet network port
- Allows up to two legacy Garmin Marine Network devices to connect directly to the gateway
- Supports larger mixed networks when compatible devices are interconnected through the appropriate chartplotter or network switch
Important Compatibility Requirements
- A mixed network must use only one Garmin BlueNet 30 Gateway
- At least one Garmin BlueNet chartplotter is required
- The gateway is not needed for a network that does not contain a Garmin BlueNet chartplotter
- Garmin BlueNet devices and legacy Garmin Marine Network devices must remain on their respective sides of the gateway
- Garmin BlueNet network cables are not NMEA 2000 cables and cannot be used interchangeably
- Compatibility should be verified for every device in the planned network before installation

Installation Notes
Garmin recommends powering the BlueNet 30 Gateway through the vessel ignition or another physical switch. The gateway continues to draw power when the system is off if it is connected directly to the battery.
Mount the gateway where it will not be submerged, where adequate ventilation is available and where there is sufficient room for cable routing. Garmin specifies at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) of separation from cables and other potential sources of interference.
For systems with more than two legacy Garmin Marine Network devices, the legacy devices must be interconnected through compatible chartplotter network ports or a GMS 10 switch. For multiple Garmin BlueNet devices, use the appropriate BlueNet network architecture, such as available chartplotter network ports or a Garmin BlueNet 20 switch.
